Common Questions about Vacation Rental Homes

Are there nightly rentals?

Any vacation home at Palisade Palms has a 6-night minimum stay requirement.  There are no exceptions as the Condo Declarations at Palisade Palms set the 6-night requirement. 

What time is check-in?

Check-in is at 3:00 p.m. The address for Palisade Palms is 801 E Beach Drive Galveston TX 77550. Once you arrive at Palisade Palms please stop at the Concierge’s desk in the building lobby. We will leave a key/security fob wristband at the Concierge desk, which allows you access to the building's hallways, elevators and your condo. Personnel staff the Concierge's Desk 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Additional key/security fob wristbands are kept in the condo. Early check-in access is available for purchase with each reservation, this access allows you to schedule your arrival any time between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

What time is check-out?

Check-out is no later than 10:30 a.m. on the day of departure. We regret that we are unable to honor requests for late check-out without impacting the vacations of other renters. Please contact the Vacation Rental Manager if you have a bona fide emergency.  Extended check-out access is available for purchase with each reservation.  This access allows you to depart any time prior to 1:-00 p.m.

What is on the check-out list?

Upon departure Guest shall surrender the property in the same condition as at check-in, excepting light cleaning and laundry.  Guest is required to complete the items on the Check Out List.  Failure to complete the list shall result in additional charges for additional housekeeping.

  • Place all soiled towels in front of the washing machine and begin one laundry load
  • Remove the grill grids/plates from the grill (if Guest used the grill) and place them in the dishwasher
  • Place all dirty dishes, cooking utensils and the coffee carafe in the dishwasher and begin the dishwasher cycle
  • Pull down, to the end of the bed, the heavy bedding of any beds which were slept in during the rental period
  • Remove all trash from the Property and dispose of it in the trash chute located in the trash closet accessed from the elevator lobby.  If the trash item is too large for the trash chute it may be left in the trash closet, not in the Property.

Do you recommend or offer Travel Insurance?

YES! Our recommended travel insurance carrier is CSA. For a small percentage of your total vacation cost you may receive benefits that will secure your vacation investment in the event of weather or illness. Our payment policies require payment in full 30 days prior to arrival.  Should cancellation occur during this time period only occupancy taxes and insurance premiums for damage insurance are refunded. No refund is provided by Texas Coastal Realty once your vacation is in process.

What items do I need to bring?

Vacation homes are furnished with bath towels and bed linens. Kitchens are stocked with dishware, glassware, silverware and cooking utensils. Each unit has a coffee pot, toaster, a blender and knife set.

Please bring:

All Food items and spices
Any desired beverages including soft drinks and bottled water (tap water available in home)
Paper Products - paper plates and napkins
Personal hygiene items such as toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, bath soap, etc
Beach Towels, if desired, most properties provide microfiber beach towels.
Suncreen, Sunglasses, Hat
Camera
Games, Cards and favorite DVDs or music
Sports equipment (tennis racquet, balls)
Chargers for phones and other electronics
Small cooler for drinks and snacks by the pool / beach

Do I need to bring Beach Towels?

Perhaps, most properties provide microfiber beach towels, see Property Features. Bath towels in the vacation home are for bathing purposes only.

Are the community pools heated?

At Palisade Palms the pools are heated year round.  In other communities you will need to ask specifically.  The temperature of the pool is affected by the ambient air temperature.

Is there pool side food or beverage service?

There is no pool side service available. You are welcome to bring a cooler with drinks to the pool area. No glass containers are allowed.
Are the beaches groomed regularly?
Yes, the beaches are groomed weekly during the months of May through August, weather permitting.  The remainder of the year, grooming is scheduled twice a month.  Again, weather permitting.

Are beach chairs and umbrellas provided?
Yes, there are awnings and some chairs set up on the beach, each morning, weather permitting.  Use of the awnings and chairs is based on a first come, first served basis.  There are folding camp chairs located on the level B landing leading to the Boardwalk.  You may use these camp chairs while at the beach.  Please return them to the level B landing when you are finished for the day.

Do the vacation homes have Wi-Fi?

Although most vacation homes have WiFi, not all do. There is complimentary WiFi available in all common areas such as swimming pool, fitness center, party rooms.

Do the vacation homes have grills?

Many, but not all, properties have grills. Please check the property's details to determine if the property offers a grill. No public grill is offered in any of the vacation communities common areas.  Grill brushes are provided and Guest is expected to clean the grill plates after each use.

Are pets allowed?

Dogs are considered in some vacation rental properties.  Please click this link to see any property where the Owner allows pets.  A service animal is always welcome, you will need to provide the paperwork.  All dogs are required to be registered, fill out this form and send in prior to arrival. Please contact our office for additional details.

Is there a restaurant on site?

There is not an on-site restaurant at Palisade Palms.  The nearby Beachtown community offers The Porch Cafe. There are many other restaurants within a few minutes of our vacation homes.

Where are the nearest grocery stores?

The closest grocery store is Arlan's Market. It is located at the corner of Market Street and University Drive. If you would like a wider selection, there is a Kroger store at Seawall and 59th Street and a Randall's store on 61st Street.

How close is Palisade Palms to the beach?

Palisade Palms is located directly on Grand Beach; just a short walk over our dune bridge, located South of the pool deck.

Where do I park?

When checking in, park in Visitors Parking near the Texas Coastal Realty office.  Once you check-in you will be issued parking instructions. You are allowed more than one vehicle for your party.  You must fill out this form and send to us prior to arrival.

Are there Palisade Palms Community Rules?

Yes, the Palisade Palms community has a list of rules that must be followed.  The General Manager has the unrestricted right to remove Guest for not following the rules.  Click here for the list of rules.

May we have overnight Guests?

Yes, as long as you do not exceed the occupancy of the rental property. All individuals staying overnight in the vacation home must be listed on the vacation rental agreement.  Please check with Texas Coastal Realty if the occupancy is in question.

Where do my Guests park?

Any guests may park in either in front of your vacation home, at Palisade Palms on the roof top parking lot, or at street level in front of the parking garage.

Where are the vending machines located in Palisade Palms?

The vending machines are located in the Trade Winds building, level 3 near the Game room and the Trade Winds building, level 2 inside the Fitness Center.

Where are the ice machines located in Palisade Palms?

There is an ice machine located in the Trade Winds building, level 3 near the Game room and in the Beach Club building, level 2 near the Party Room.

Is smoking allowed at the Vacation Home?

Smoking is not permitted in any home, on their balconies or in any public area including the Pool Deck. Smoking is permitted at street level. Smoking is permitted on the beach although you should be mindful to not leave any smoking debris on the beach. Carry it to the nearest trash can once the fire is extinguished.
