Moody Gardens Golf Course
Moody Gardens Golf Course, formerly the Galveston Municipal Golf Course, featuring a $16 million comprehensive renovation by the renowned golf course architects of Jacobsen Hardy Golf Course Design. Revealed in June 2008, the Moody Gardens Golf Course still features the best historical aspects of the original layout, while significantly improving certain holes and overall course flow. The renovation includes new turf grass, green complexes, elevations, irrigation, drainage, cart paths, greens and a full clubhouse renovation. A First-class Public Golf Course The multi-million dollar investment is a contribution to the city on the part of Moody Gardens and the culmination of the vision to provide a first-class public golf course for local residents and visitors to the Island. The City of Galveston retains ownership of the newly renovated facility, which is managed by Moody Gardens. A Seaside Course with a Tropical Feel Jacobsen Hardy`s attention to detail provides residents and visitors alike with a premiere public golf course. Among the many improvements the course features Paspalum turf, designed for seaside golf courses and providing an outstanding playing surface. To keep playing surfaces in top condition, a new water treatment plant and irrigation system were included in the renovation project. This improvement in water quality optimizes playing surfaces and also provides water for landscaped areas around the clubhouse and on the golf course. The course highlights its unique seaside tropical feel with 18 holes meandering through upland and lowland native areas, natural wetlands habitat of beautiful Sydnor Bayou and over 500 palm trees.

Galveston Country Club
Galveston Country Club is the oldest country club in Texas. Its facilities are vibrant and beautiful. The course and facilities are located between the Gulf and the Bay, surrounded by Pirate`s Beach community. Essentially, this is a private club, but hotel guests and visitors may play golf and enjoy the restaurant facilities while visiting Galveston. The course was redesigned by golf course architects Jacobsen Hardy Golf Course Design in 2003.
